Cockapoo
Character
The Cockapoo, or Cockerpoo, is a mix between a Cocker Spaniel and a Poodle with a unique temperament. Its character traits are more or less reflected in this lineage, although there is considerable variation. Cockapoos are generally known for being family-friendly. They are loyal, intelligent family dogs that can form very close, lifelong friendships with their owners.
Appearance
The Cockapoo's size and appearance can vary greatly due to its hybrid nature. Depending on the type of Poodle used in breeding, you have a standard Cockapoo or a smaller version. The standard version averages 35 to 38 cm, while the smaller version is around 25 cm. These dogs typically have a strong back and strong kneecaps, making them less likely to develop hip problems later in life. Cockapoos weigh an average of around 10 kg. They have a long tail and a cozy, thick, curly coat that comes in a variety of colors.
Other details
Contrary to popular belief, Cockapoos are not always hypoallergenic. While the Poodle produces less dander, the Cocker Spaniel does. However, you are generally less susceptible to allergies with a Cockapoo than with a Cocker Spaniel. The Cockapoo is not a dog to be left alone for days. They crave attention and companionship far too much for that. If you leave the house, it's best to leave them with some toys so they can entertain themselves. Also, give this energetic dog at least 30 minutes of exercise twice a day to keep them healthy, in addition to a generous dose of love and a healthy diet. They will then live an average of around 14 years.
