Italian Greyhound
Character
Italian Greyhounds are sweet companions that can be very timid and sensitive. They require gentle handling. These loyal and docile dogs are also quite intelligent. This breed doesn't have any problems with cats or other pets. Italian Greyhounds also get along well with children. They sometimes have a tendency to become a bit too submissive when handled harshly.
Appearance
The elegant Italian Greyhound stands approximately 32 to 38 cm at the shoulder. It weighs around 4 kg and should not exceed 5 kg. This slender four-legged friend has a very short, satiny coat that is soft to the touch. Various color shades are available, including slate, isabella, and black. White markings may appear on the chest and feet.
Other details
An Italian Greyhound needs intensive exercise. A long walk will revitalize it. It's lively, active, and very fast. It's best to keep it on a leash or within a fenced area. Italian Greyhounds don't do well in kennels, as they are quite dependent. They're also not suitable for outdoor use, as they get cold easily. Their life expectancy is around 13 to 14 years.
