Maltese are small, pure white dogs with a dense, silky coat. A male stands between 21 and 26 cm tall, and a female between 20 and 24 cm. A Maltese has a black nose, drooping ears, and dark, inquisitive eyes. It has a slightly rounded skull, short, straight legs, and a graceful tail. This cloud of white hair has a delicate and aristocratic appearance, but it's also a bundle of energy. So don't just call it a "lapdog."

A Maltese loves to walk, but an extremely long trek is not for this dog. From 8 months old, you can take a Maltese puppy on a more strenuous hike because their bones are fully developed. This little creature is perfectly happy living in an apartment or condo. Maltese are sensitive to cold or hot temperatures. With proper protection and care, they can live up to 14 years.
A Maltese doesn't shed and is ideal for owners with allergies. To keep its coat shiny and beautiful, you need to brush it regularly. Since its coat gets dirty easily, it's not excessive to give it a bath once a week. Regularly trimming the hair from its ears and nails is also necessary.
